How To Create PDF eBooks Fast and Easy For Free

Electronic books or eBooks for short have been around for awhile now. eBooks are digital files and are available in .exe or .pdf formats. The PDF formats are more popular. eBooks can be easily downloaded and read online. Creating eBooks is not very difficult. I make use of Activ E-Book Compiler to create .exe eBooks and Pdf995 to create PDF documents easily. Pdf995 is a printer driver and free converter and it's accompanied with PdfEdit995 and Signature995 which are also free. However, each time you run Pdf995, a sponsor page will appear. To remove it, you can just upgrade for a small fee.

Creating Your eBook

PDF documents are actually Word documents and you need to convert Word to PDF. Here is how to do it easily with Pdf995. After installing all the required files for Pdf995, click on Start>Programs>Software995>pdfedit995. Next, click on the "Batch" tab, and put a tick next to "Add PDF995 buttons to Microsoft Word Toolbar". This will add a small square button in Word on the upper left corner. You will see pdf995 displayed on it. Now try creating your first PDF document. It's simple. Open Word and just paste an article. After doing so, just click on pdf995 on the upper left and the sponsor page will load. Just click on "Continue using the sponsored version" and save your eBook. You have now created your first eBook.

Adding Security To Your eBook

You can even add security to your eBook. Just go to Start>Programs>Software995>signature995. Click on "PDF Rights Management". A screen will appear with the following:

(1) Restrict printing
(2) Restrict copying content to clipboard
(3) Automatically name the encrypted file
(4) Restrict Screen Readers
(5) Restrict Modification

Put a tick on options (2), (4) and (5).

You can even add password with the function "Restrict access to PDF" at the bottom.

You will notice at the top the path of your already created eBook. Here am taking an example from my computer.

File to encrypt: C:\Documents and Settings\Patrice\Desktop\ebook-test.pdf

Next, just click on "Encrypt the document". Rename your secured document to a different name say "ebook-test-secured". You have now created a secured eBook. Adding security is optional but particularly important when you are selling an eBook. Your goal is to protect your information and downloads.

Additional Tips

There are many ways and benefits in using eBooks. Here are some:

(1) You can sell an eBook to make money and there is no need for shipping as it can be instantly downloaded.

(2) Offer it as a gift and incentive to get subscribers to your newsletter.

(3) Allow your affiliates to rebrand a sample version of your paid eBook with their own affiliate links. Then, they will be motivated to distribute it for free.

(4) Simply offer it for free on your blog or website. Inside the eBook, you can offer tips and recommend products. People who read an eBook are more likely to make a purchase than from an article on a website as an eBook increases the perceived value of the information. By making it available as a download, you make the information appear more valuable. Also an eBook is downloaded so it stays on the hard drive.

(5) An eBook can be used as a bonus for your existing products whether it's tangible or intangible.

(6) You can even design your own eBook cover or outsource it. An attractive eBook cover can boost conversion rate for your products, skyrocket your free downloads and increase your newsletter subscription rate tenfold.
