Commenting Tips - 1 Link Building Technique You Should Know
Since the
introduction of blogs, people have been posting articles, stories
and news. Many blog owners allow their readers and visitors
to comment on what they say or what they post. When these people
comment, usually they can input their name and website address(url).
Their name will be linked to their url and they just got an
inbound link. If only it was that simple. The problem is the
majority of blogs have set their blogs to nofollow meaning your
links won't get much value or none from the search engines.
One good thing with getting links on nofollow blogs is that
you can still generate traffic directly to your website if it
happens you comment on high traffic blogs. So getting several
links even on nofollow blogs can be quite beneficial just for
the traffic. But even if your link did get value from those
blogs, using your name as keyword won't do much for your search
engine rankings apart getting some link juice or PageRank. But
what if you can get triple benefits from that link ie the link
juice, keyword targeting and the direct traffic. There are blogs
which can provide you with this 1 link building technique and
will allow you to get those type of value. One thing is there
aren't many of them.
It's important
for you to remember that you should not view blog commenting
as a sole purpose of getting links. Your goal is to contribute
something valuable. The link will just be the icing on the cake.
Why I will emphasize on this is when you view blog commenting
as a major way to interact with what others say instead of purely
for a link building purpose, you will tend to honestly provide
something of value instead of gaining a link fast without considering
your comment value. For instance, just saying "Great Post"
can give many blog owners the feeling that your main goal is
to get a link. Contributing to the post like giving some tips
and ideas, some short personal life experience or just giving
your opinion are more suitable for effective blog commenting.
It's not necessary to submit a too long comment as well.
Here
are 7 tips for you to get a more enjoyable blog commenting experience:
You
should avoid spamming the blogs in any way.
Don't
do mass commenting. For instance, if you see several blog posts
on the same website, don't submit one comment for each. It can
be targeted as link spamming even though you are providing valuable
comments.
Don't
submit the same comment across multiple blogs. Chances are it
will be difficult to do that since you need to find blogs talking
about the same thing. But incase you do that and the topics
aren't similar, your comments will just be deleted as they are
irrelevant unless you submit a general comment like "Great
Post" to all of them. But like I mentioned earlier, avoid
sending these type of comments and say something more constructive.
Provide
value to the post. Share your ideas, opinions and offer tips,
solutions or personal experience.
Don't
put your url in the comment box. You have a URL field for that.
Don't
stuff the NAME field with keywords only. Use your name generally
or sometimes it works to use your company name as some blogs
won't mind.
Interacting
with the blog owner or other blog commentators is also beneficial.
It builds networking and relationships as well.
Blog commenting
as a link building technique is highly effective when done the
right way. When blog owners post content, they like other people
telling them what they think or give their own ideas and opinions.
And some of them really don't mind to give a link and not only
a link but a link which gets value from the search engines provided
they are receiving solid and valuable comments.
